I recently had to uninstall and reinstall and eventually remove and reinstall php54 in order to get it to play nice with mysql to the satisfaction of wordpress (I had originally installed without expressly declaring --with-mysql). When I finally got it working php --version returned:

Googling told me to comment out extension=mysql.so and extension=mysqli.so in the php.ini file and that did in fact make the errors go away with no apparent badness but it still appears to be an issue. Why are those extension= lines listed if there is native support when installing --with-mysql? Or is there something I have caused by installing and uninstalling and deleting and installing, that I need to clean up to make a better local fix?

This on mac os x snow leopard using the system apache and homebrewed mysql. The following final params:

Sorry for the delayed response.

First of all, make sure your formula is up to date. Recently, we enabled mysql support by default, so --with-mysql isn't needed and is ignored. (brew options php54 will give you an up to date list)

As for the actual issue here, the fact that it installed without error is odd, but if you could get us some of the information we ask for in the README, I'll take a look at it.
